2015 was full of change and challenge in our Family! In January of 2015 I sought someone out on Facebook who was talking about this super nutrition and the many benefits and blessings it had brought into her life. I quickly recognized I NEEDED something for ME! As a mom, we often - ok, let's be honest, always- find ourselves giving all we have to our kids and spouse and when its our turn there's rarely anything left. I started ISA strong and stayed strong for a few weeks only for life to get more complicated and would justify to myself WHY it was OK I wasn't doing the program right now.
In January we had found out that our family of 6 would be increasing to 7! A family relative had adopted her grand daughter at a young age and was no longer able to care for her. She had asked us if we would be interested in adopting her. Andrew & I felt that we had and still have plenty of love to go around and thought, the more the merrier! In September - our adoption was finalized! And in November we were able to go together as a family to the Gilbert temple and be sealed together for time and all eternity! In the middle of which we listed and sold our house, lived with our 5 kids and lab at my parents house (bless their hearts), built our dream home, and tried to blend our family together! The road has been rocky at times, but the view above is breath taking! I love my sweet family and couldn't imagine life without all 5 of these crazy kids!
So Here is for my personal accountability - The first round I did ISA flawlessly for 2 weeks. The results were astounding. I lost 10 pounds, my wedding ring that hadn't fit in 7 months since the birth of our youngest finally fit, I wasn't craving all the things my former sugar sweet tooth self would, not to mention my hair. Oh my Hair. So I have been a hairstylist for 14 1/2 years (yikes I;m getting old quickly) and for the past 2 years - I blame it on my hormones from birthing 4 beautiful and healthy babies - had all kinds of issues. The worst one was my hair for no reason would get extremely greasy. I mean like sticky greasy right at the roots. It didn't matter how much I washed it or didn't wash it for that matter, what product I used, ( I tried staying away from the sulphate free shampoos thinking maybe that was causing my dilemma), no one including my hairstylist friends and high up professional widely known throughout this business could not come up with a cause, much less a solution to my problem =( I was horrified. How was I suppose to do other people's hair when my own was beyond help! I have to admit, I even washed my hair with dawn dish soap - you know the blue one they use on the animals after an oil spill i the ocean. - I was desperate! I knew in my heart something was off with my nutrition. After 10 DAYS on ISAGENIX - my hair was shiny, soft, and healthy! I couldn't believe it!
Life got crazy and hectic as it always does - at least it Always does with 5 busy kids! I slacked off and still tried to keep 1 to 2 shakes a day. I was able to maintain the 10 lbs I had lost for the next 6 months. Then in July - while living at my parents Andrew & I decided we're going all in for a full month. I was able to lose another 10 lbs.
For me - the hardest part is the mental portion. I can do this and I know that I can I just have to get and stay in the right frame of mind.
For the sake of making this a post and not a novel - I decided I'd start this blog for myself. I'd like to hold myself accountable to the goals I have :
January 1st which is in 2 days will be the beginning of our ISA dream journey!
I will also be going to our gym Mon/Wed/Fri at 5 AM. to lift for an hour. Then I will be doing 1/2 hour EACH day on our tread climber. I will be going to PiYo Live on Tuesday and Thursday Nights and on Saturday mornings when I can. My weigh and measure day will be on Friday mornings - so expect to hear from me at least on Fridays!
